Keeping the eye of the media on things besides his team. I think it probably takes some of the pressure off of them. He keeps saying things that the media doesn't agree with and all of a sudden ESPN is talking about his views on fast paced offenses instead of putting pressure on his team.

Yep. Everything he does is calculated. His comments are planned, and he does it because he wants the exact reaction the media gives him.

Wouldn't this kind of fall under the same category as minter talking about the heat instead of saying they were out on the field 75% of the game bc their offense sucked horribly, along with the playcalling?

I used to ride the elevator with him during those media conferences. He hates the media with an unbridled passion. I used to love his cursing tirades after those doors closed.
