They have been good games that last couple years. The best idea the NHL has had in a LLOOOONNNGGG time.

A better idea would be to put it in a big arse dome football stadium one year - Ford Field and the Metrodome come to mind.

You mean indoors like in a regular hockey arena or do you mean for there to be more fans in attendance?
I think the weather/outdoors is the main "ordeal" with the NHL Winter Classic. Kinda brings the fans back to their "childhood" of playing hockey outside on frozen ponds/ground. I remember watching one year on tv, and it snowed. It was cool to see them battling the snow as they played. Having never played hockey or been in snow/ice for more than a few days straight, it kinda reminded me of playing football outside in the cold/occasional snow as a kid (once as college student 8 yrs ago).
Now the NBA should do a classic streetball game. Make it in an alley with dumpsters, boomboxes, chain-linked fences, and occasional gunshots and arrests.

Trust me, you'd get more people in an indoor NFL stadium for a hockey game then you will have people trying to get out at Fenway. It's cold as frick there man. I also think that various hockey teams around the league that share cities with NFL teams that have large indoor stadiums (Dallas, Phoenix, Detriot, and Minnesota - there may be someone else I am forgetting) should try to play at least one game a year such as their season opener in that facility. Make tickets cheap as frick so people who normally wouldn't pay X number for a ticket can pay less, get expose to the game, and may be willing to shell out a couple more bucks on average to see the game more consistently. Just my two cents.
