I have grown to love hockey but living in Houston it's been hard for me to adapt a team, so last year I made 4 futures bets on teams to win the cup/their conference and it worked out well having those teams to root for throughout the year. With that said, I'd love some of the hockey fans advice on what they think is good value on bets. Wild at +2000 stuck out to me. Are Blackhawks and Bruins big enough favorites where I should put a unit on them?

Chicago Blackhawks +700
Boston Bruins +850
Los Angeles Kings +850
Anaheim Ducks +1100
Pittsburgh Penguins +1100
St Louis Blues +1150

New York Rangers +1600
Tampa Bay Lightning +1600
Montreal Canadiens +1800
Colorado Avalanche +2000
Minnesota Wild +2000
Detroit Red Wings +2500
Dallas Stars +2650
Columbus Blue Jackets +3500
Philadelphia Flyers +4000
Toronto Maple Leafs +4000
Vancouver Canucks +4000
Washington Capitals +4500
Arizona Coyotes +5500
New Jersey Devils +5500
Ottawa Senators +6500
Nashville Predators +7500
Winnipeg Jets +7500
New York Islanders +8000
Edmonton Oilers +9000
Calgary Flames +10000
Carolina Hurricanes +10000
Florida Panthers +13500
Buffalo Sabres +15000

Odds to win Eastern Conference:

Boston Bruins +370
Pittsburgh Penguins +485
New York Rangers +725
Tampa Bay Lightning +725
Montreal Canadiens +800
Detroit Red Wings +1125
Columbus Blue Jackets +1600
Philadelphia Flyers +1800
Toronto Maple Leafs +1800
Washington Capitals +2025
New Jersey Devils +2475
Ottawa Senators +2850
New York Islanders +3500
Carolina Hurricanes +4350
Florida Panthers +5900
Buffalo Sabres +6500

Western Conference:

Chicago Blackhawks +405
Los Angeles Kings +483
Anaheim Ducks +625
St Louis Blues +650
San Jose Sharks +725
Colorado Avalanche +1100
Minnesota Wild +1100
Dallas Stars +1400
Vancouver Canucks +2100
Arizona Coyotes +2800
Nashville Predators +3500
Winnipeg Jets +3500
Edmonton Oilers +4500
Calgary Flames +5000

I think the Stars, Wild, Blues all seem decent plays.

I think the Wild and Avs have good odds on there.

The East is wide f'n open. The Bruins are still the team to beat, but they regressed this offseason and didn't win the conference anyway. I'd consider small wagers on a pack of long odds teams. Like I'd have to figure out if the math is worth it, but a bet on the Isles, Sens, Caps, Jackets, and Flyers might be worth it. The payout is high, but I don't think the teams at the top have that much better of a chance of winning the ECF (the problem is, if you bet on five teams like that, who combined still likely have under a 33% chance of winning the ECF as a group, is economical). Hell, if I could put money on the Wings missing the playoffs, I would. That team is getting real old.

I actually do think, if OP is feeling really bold, the Isles could be an interesting bet. They missed the playoffs last year but did make it two years ago. Tavares missed nearly 25 games last year, which surely hurt them in the standings (still almost certainly wouldn't have made the playoffs, but would have been in it nearly until the end, I think). And their predominant starting goalie last year was 40th in the league in save percentage, while they just traded for the guy who was 13th in the offseason. I don't think I'd bet on them winning the Cup, but potentially getting out of the East is interesting.

I think we're actually getting younger as a whole, but the biggest stars (Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Kronwall) are getting old.

Are you talking about winning the regular season or winning the ECF?

I was talking winning the ECF. Regular season, the Bruins are close to a sure thing. Come playoffs, it's the same as last year, we are a B's upset away from a total free for all.

Take the Stars winning the West. Great value there honestly.
