New England (Boston) - Red Sox

Not in New England. The folks here a passionate about all of their professional sports. In my experience, one doesn't trump the other here.

I know the Flyers are big but really???

Philly has always been a hockey town. The Sixers used to be ahead of the Eagles also (that's changed) and the Phillies is debatable.

The Northeast cities are HUGE on hockey. Bruins, Flyers, Rangers, Red wings, and Penguins. Even the Caps have gotten really popular.

The Bulls have to be more popular in Chicago than "da bears"

A Chicagoan once told me the Bears are the more popular than the Bulls because they have been in Chicago longer.....

Rams to the Cardinals. I lived there for years - hands down #1.

Yeah I've heard that as big as the Sox and Patriots are in Boston the Bruins are arguably the biggest thing in town.

No way. The Bears are king here. Cubs and Sox both have passionate followings, and a lot of people love the Bulls and Blackhawks, but...

Everyone follows the Bears. They've just sucked for a long time, but if they were ever any good, it'd make the recent Blackhawks and 90's Bulls bandwagons seem like the Jags bandwagon.

Yup. Hockey is huge in those areas. Been that way for over thirty years. The red wings sellout every game and joe Louis arena is in the worst area of Detroit.

The Bruins certainly have a huge following in and around Boston. Even their Providence team has a big following, we go to a few games at "the Dunk" in Providence every year because it's really affordable for a family and the kids love it. Hockey fans here are definitely their own breed. Pubs and sports bars are just as packed for Hockey games as for any other sport, many times because their ain't shite else to do up here in the winter.

Arizona- Suns over Cardinals

10 years ago yes, now its not even close. Cardinals > anything. They've sold out every single game since they built university of PHX stadium. Conversely Sarver has run the Suns into the ground and they have 0 marketable and likable players. They've been irrelevant locally since Steve Nash left.

I was waiting for this, and it's absolutely false.

The Dolphins being in the doldrums the last decade and the Heat renting Lebron for that title run of a few years creates this illusion. But believe me, South Florida is Dolphins #1 and it's not close.

Heat fans are white collar. They show up when the team is a contender and it's mostly for the social scene. AAA is also downtown Miami, so it's more of the South Beach affluent crowd. This is one of the most fickle fan bases in all of sports.

Dolphins fans are blue collar. The stadium is in North Miami Gardens, so you get more of the Ft. Lauderdale crowd among others. Sure, the stadium attracts a lot of visiting team's fans, but that's because South Florida is such a transient location, and, who doesn't want to visit Miami??

The Dolphins have had this area's heart since the early 70's and the people down there are desperately, desperately starving for them to win big again.

Minnesota is a toss up. The Twins are very popular but the state is hockey mad. The Wild are a very big deal. It would be great to see the numbers, I think the Wild might be the most popular.

In Chicago it goes Bears, Cubs, Blackhawks, Bulls, then Sox.

Have to agree about the Bruins in Boston. Very big deal there.

As bad as the Sabres have been they still might be as popular as the Bills in Buffalo. Buffalo always has high ratings for any hockey event on TV.

No way. The Cavs are fourth after OSU, Browns, and the Indians.
