I just wish this would all go away and stop making headlines.

They can deal with it. It's part of being a professional and doing your job.

The owners don't pay them those huge salaries for them to grandstand their pet social and political causes.

Like every other employee on the planet, they can support their social and political causes ON THEIR OWN DAMN TIME.

If you owned a restaurant would you want your waiters and waitresses lecturing the customers with their views on abortion before they took their order? No, you would "shut them up"

The second part of your post invalidates the first.

Or pontificating on global warming before singing "happy birthday" to a patron?

Jemele Hill might've been what finally pushed the NFL to act on this.

Already had people on one side who were boycotting because of players protesting during the anthem, but now there's a liberal talking head calling for a boycott of the NFL's most valuable franchise and their sponsors because Jerry Jones is requiring his team to all stand. They don't want to feel the pinch from both sides of the anthem argument.

Ok, maybe a handful isn't the best term. But, let's say it was 25-30ish?

MMQB article following week 3 said 8-10 players.

The previous weekend, in the 16 games in the NFL, fewer than 10 players, total, either sat or raised a fist during anthems across the league. The organized protests were being replaced by meetings between a cadre of increasingly socially conscious players and league and team officials.

Apparently, you do not. If you did, you wouldn't have typed the second part of your post. The 1st amendment doesn't give you the right to participate in a political protest ON THE JOB IN YOUR WORK UNIFORM. Repeat the sentence below 3 times.

THE FIRST AMENDMENT ONLY PROTECTS YOUR SPEECH FROM OPPRESSION BY YOUR GOVERNMENT.

I also don't want my waiters singing "happy birthday" while I'm trying to eat.

How bout that?

Then maybe the police wouldn't have a reason TO PROFILE. Theres a reason its called a profile in the first place. Because its a stat line on perps and their victims, and the area that the incidences are occurring

He thinks stereotypes just fall from the sky. Black people make up 12% of the population yet commit over half of the murders in our country. More unarmed white people have been killed by police this year than black people. Same was true for 2016. Facts are racist now though

I don't think stereotypes fall from the sky. But if you don't think the American criminal justice system needs to be addressed in some capacity. Then our conversation really doesn't need to happen.

So if I don't think exactly how you think then no conversation needs to be had. Got it. Great work

I didn't gather anything. You literally said it. I can go back up one post and quote it for you again.

Meh... Jerry likes to play monkey in the middle with heated situations. He wanted to show his players that he is "one of them". But in the end, Jerry is worried about his bottomline.

And that's the perfect way to handle it.
