What's funny about the Saints' allegedly worst defense ever is that:

1) They pitched a shutout during that season
and
2) they weren't the worst in terms of scoring or turnover.

And as we know, gross yardage without any context is one of the worst measures of any team, whether it's offense or defense, rushing or passing.

What it does mean is that play for play they were the worst at playing football in the history of the NFL
