I really don't understand this line of thinking. Should the design company work for free? Do you really think all they did is take the purple out? Did you even look closely at the logos? Of course they got paid as well they should have.
The abundance of illegally cracked adobe software has really made everyone think they are know-it-alls when it comes to this kind of stuff.

haha, obviously not a fan of the LSU logos but it definitely looks like they got the generic sports logo look down. Good for them I guess. That site design is horrible though.
I will say this about bad logos though, a lot of people say they can do better and they are probably right. The fact is though, they didn't and the designer did. What I mean is working with a client, THEY have to approve it. Anyone that's worked with a client on a design project knows how hard it can be a lot of the time to get them to pick the choice you want them to. For every terrible logo design, I can almost guarantee there was a good choice that got killed during the process.
Anyone can do a better design, but they have the luxury of doing whatever they want. They don't have to get the client to approve it.

Hate the font but like that they are using black and no more grey. I liked the orange originally but they screwed the collars when they went to ADIDAS making them look real bad.
