Is game 3 of the series between team A and team B played if team A wins game 1 and game 2?

Series started on Saturday if that's your confusion.

If you win game 1 and 2 and it's a 3 game series why play game 3?

Yes, 3 games are scheduled in every SEC series.

Some series may be shortened because of rain-outs, but 3 games are scheduled. In past years, some series were scheduled as mid-week doubleheaders, but that is no longer the case.

Lsu won game 1 vs Aggies
Lsu won game 2 vs Aggies
Aggies won game 3

Hence...LSu wins the series 2 games to 1

Edited to add that this is not a PLAYOFF, so "winning the series" is merely a phrase. If it was a playoff-type series, (which only occurs in Super Regionals in NCAA softball) game 3 would not have been played because LSU won first 2.

It's a simple question. Are they required to play all 3 games even if they clearly win the series after 2 games?

Yes they are required to play game 3 because it is a scheduled SEC game. All teams are scheduled to play 8 3-game series in conference play.
