NCAA M/W Tennis Championships - Athens, Ga.

College tennis championship tournament for women kicked off yesterday and men today. For the first time in a few years, there seems to be more than 2 teams that actually have a legit shot at winning the team title this year. I still like UVa and UCLA with their entire rosters being littered with the top American tennis talent, but OSU, USC, Oklahoma and a few others have just as good of a shot. UGa has to be thrown in the discussion simply b/c of the home crowd advantage they will have in Athens.

uga women are gonna win this shite. if the men make it far enough, i might actually go watch. never been to a tennis match here, which is kinda ridiculous.

Pretty fun watching matches. Worked withe the men's team while I was at UK. We won the SEC and SEC tournament and made to quarter finals in the NCAA. Wild scene in Athens, great set up and the community come out in droves to support it.

WildcatMike - what happened with Jomby in his last match? I saw he retired at 2-2 in the 1st set. Do you know if he is able to play this week?

Horrible day for SEC tennis as all teams were eliminated. Guess it just kind of confirmed that the conference, as a whole, is still down.
USC, UVa, and UCLA are again the favorites, but I think any of the others in the elite 8 have a shot. OSU can certainly push UCLA.

Moving indoors today because of weather. OSU is a great indoor team. If rain continues throughout the day and they play UCLA indoors, they will have a good shot at pulling off the upset.
