If you gave these guys the premiere college coaching staff, and let them play together from spring practice to the first game how would they do against a weak NFL division? Do you think they could win a division? I think that the skill positions might be more solid than any NFL team, but I don't know if they could hold their own in the trenches. What you guys think?

This is asked weekly. Most people agree that the college kids have 0 chance

What is it with this topic over the last few weeks? Are the NFL and NCAA merging sometime soon or something?

Win a division? Not a chance. They could maybe beat the worst 1 or 2 teams.

I dont think they would win a division.

I do think they could win some games, as they would have a great qb in Luck, great skill players and still be damn good in the trenches. This is of course assuming that these players would still be the same players they were in their all-american season but with more endurance and durability for the NFL length season.

Seriously, why couldnt they compete? I dont think its unrealistic that after some some weeks of playing NFL teams, the All-american team would start to get up to speed.

NCAA All-Americans played in the Chicago All-Star game vs. the Pros every year from the 1940's - 1976.

They stopped because the NCAA team couldn't make it competitive anymore losing something like 19 in a row and by lopsided scores.

In a downpour, the Steelers were beating the NCAA guys 24-0 in the 3rd quarter when the game was stopped.

NCAA guys cannot compete at the of scrimmage.

Yeah, off the top of my head I can think of Luck, Richardson, Blackmon being better skill players than, at least, a few teams currently have. I just don't know about the trenches.

Besides defensive end, I think the all Americans are better at most positions

They would get crushed in the trenches. You're talking about kids who were in high school just 2 years prior in some instances lining up across from guys who've been doing it non stop for 5-15 years more.

They wouldn't win a game.

LOL no

The game starts in the trenches. Colts offensive and defensive line would absolutely bitch whip an all college line

ETA: Give Painter all the time in the world, with Wayne and Clark going up against college DBs and LBs, he would throw for 500 yds

If guys like Nick Fairley can jump in and play well, why wouldn't they be any good one year prior? I don't think the College AA team would win many, but I am not convinced they'd go aimless, and am even less convinced that the Colgate would beat them by 40.

I said all this in my original post that the lines probably wouldn't hold up. But to say painter would throw for 500 yards is a little over the top bc I think Blackmon Floyd and luck would do more than garçon Wayne and painter IF they both had time to throw, but I guess the consensus is they wouldn't. Suh got plenty of pressure against older guys in his first year in the league.
