Barring injury, Davis and Asik will be the best front court in the NBA.

Losing Asik will be a bigger blow than many think.
I disagree. Last year I was big on Asik being the back-up because it would give the Rockets "48 minutes of elite rim protection".

But the truth of it is that it really didn't have as big of an impact as I thought it would.

Surprisingly, back-up center by committee last year when Asik was hurt was just as effective as when Asik was in the game.

I've always liked his defense and that's never been his problem. His shooting sometimes well...
His shooting has improved drastically since he was with the Hornets. He had a higher 3pt% than Parsons last year. 41% from off the top of my head.

Ariza fits so damn well with the Rockets. It really was a no brainer not to match Parsons once Dallas got crazy. It will be interesting to see how he does this year. I like him. I hope he succeeds, but I'd also love for Ariza to outplay him.

I can't wait until we get to here "wait until the playoffs" when this continues into the season.

Too embarrassing losing this game for SA to hang the banner on opening night, tbh.

I mean, getting swept in the regular season last year and NOW dropping a preseason roadie to these guys? Overrated

Rockets and Mavs are 85-85 against each other in the last 25 years. I thought that was interesting.

better player than parsons

Come on man.

what? he is. hes a better on ball defender and better 3 point shooter. i keep saying it and you clowns wont listen: parson's value was his contract. he now has to produce like an all star b/c hes being paid like one. good luck with that...

It really is such an intense rivalry. Unfortunately, they have had more recent playoff success.

For two years, Parsons has been called overrated on this board, but now he's All-Star caliber because it's a way to shite on the Rockets. It's pretty hilarious.

It's all relative, of course.

The Texas Trio of teams is just flat ridiculous. Expecting more of the same this year.

Yeah, but man am I jealous of the Spurs. One of my best friends dad grew up in Houston but moved to San Antonio after dental school, and I give him so much shite for abandoning the Rockets. But he knows I'm just jealous.

Parsons could do a little more offensively but he isn't nearly as good defensively. So it's hard to assess who is better.

Parsons can finish at the rim a little better and he used to make some nice off-ball cuts for lay-ups. He used that pump fake to perfection and got the defense scrambling which set up some easy buckets.

So he was good at keeping the offense churning.

My wife spent most of her growing up years in Houston but I brought her over to the dark side

This run of success the Spurs have been on hs been surreal and i just try not to take it for granted. Especially because major change is on the near horizon for us. We'll see what happens
