Back to Hawks: Sources say they'll now try to trade their two first-rounders (one from the Teague deal) to make re-signing Al Horford easier

What are they doing??

I'm going out on a limb and assuming they are talking about putting a competitive team out there to keep Horford. Not just clearing space. I would have thought Teague was a better trade chip to put pieces around Horford than the 12th pick...I don't know. This is bazaar. All this to tread water?

ETA: Maybe to go after Parsons and Noah?

4 years ago, the Bulls had Taj, DRose, Noah, Deng, and Thibs.

Now Taj and Butler are the only ones left and odds are the FO will ship them out of town too.

Wonder if the Bulls move Butler now and draft Dunn.

USAF hart, that funny about Horford, because he can play the 4 and 5. As a Laker fan I would love to get him over dwight, only issue with him is the age, 30. Now, I wouldn't pay him the 10 plus yr veteran max, but he is a 20mil 4 yr contract guy. Yes you have to give him the 4th yr to sign him

I don't think many teams would've been willing to give up much for an expiring guy. He's from the Indiana area so I'm assuming they're making the trade with the expectation that he stays.

Don't want to start a new thread for this but what are the Celtics planning on doing at 3 in the draft?

what does that mean? we have plenty of space to re-sign al and then some. i have to think this means to attempt to make some noise. money not an issue in keeping him.

That's kind of the big question here. I think they'd prefer to trade it for a vet

Actively looking for trades...not sure who they'd pick if they are stuck with it.

Because Horford hasn't been working for us. Atlanta was exposed this year from the year prior. We have zero rebounding while Horford is playing Center. If they want to draft a true 5 and move Horford to the 4 and Millsap to the 3 I am ok with that. However, keeping Horford at the 5 is a dumb move.
