My CBB window is day after super bowl through championship week
NCAA tourney is tough to bet. I usually only bet the first round or two if i bet it at all. Ive hit some big moneylines the past few tournies though. Lehigh and Ohio in 2012. Florida Gulf Coast and LaSalle in 2013. Mercer in 2014. Georgia State in 2015. Stephen F Austin and Hawaii last year

It would have to be a Lehigh type scenario.
You would need an NBA lottery pick on the 16 that misses most of the season due to injury and comes back at the end to win conf tourney, but record is bad enough to get a 16. Combined with injury/suspension last minute to the 1 seed (U Cal's player last year).

Yeah I have been saying this for a while now
UC Irvine fits that bill this year.
The problem with the 16 seed line is that is where all the upset winners of conference tournies land. The past few years there have been far more upset conference tourney winners than usual. So you have shitty teams that went on a hot 3 day run to make the tournament wind up in the 16 seed line. Like Austin Peay last year, they were terrible and didn't even have to play in the First Four since there were 4 teams WORSE than them who gotin.
Of the 16 seeds the last 3 tournaments, only Texas Southern in 2014, North Florida in 2015 and Hampton last year actually won their regular season conference title. Only Hampton of that group actually made it to the Round of 64.

I am a big crusader against single bid leagues handing out their automatic bid to the tournament champion. I believe it should go to the regular season champ. Hence why I know all of this - I hate how a team can dominate the regular season in their conference and have one bad night in the conference tournament and it was all for nothing. Then you have some undeserving team who got hot for 3 days take up a 16 seed in the NCAA tournament and get blown out. I have an excel graph on my work computer that shows that teams who won their conference regular season play significantly better in the tournament than teams who didn't
That's in my opinion the main reason a 16 has never beaten a 1. It's because the 16 seeds are not the best their conference has to offer.
