Old days? In my stuck in the past head, those are the “new logos” for the wolves and the pistons.

80’s teams would score 70 pts a game against current defenses

The all-star game is not too far off from a regular season game. Both are garbage.

It's shite. Penny was already breaking down in 98 and didn't even play 20 games that season

They just need to cancel it the same way the NFL did with the Pro Bowl.

Its not just the All-Star game...the regular season is basically a 3-point shooting contest (shite, maybe Bird should come out of retirement, bad back and all, he could drop dimes on these lazy defenders slash entertainers defense. This is 70s basketball... All for show, you get yours, I'll get mine.

Even when the Joker won the title he said, "I'm just glad its over...now I can get back to my horses.". Meaning, he was tired of " performing ".

Jordan wept on the floor.

The NBA has become a dog and pony show. I think its a legit question if its still a legit sport. It seems to have drifted to millionaires just trying to entertain for a few hours, with no care about outcomes.

He doesn't love basketball. He's just all-time great at playing it.

You don't think plenty of players in the 80s and 90s felt the same? This is a job, after all.

You will never come up with enough evidence to prove to me that the NBA is better today than it was in the 80’s & 90’s. No matter how smart you think you are….

They need to change it like the NFL. A good concept I saw was a 3v3 tournament. Use the same rules as that 3v3 league that the old players play in. Short games, can't just hide on defense, a little something different that might stoke some competitive fire in the players. Worth a shot

All the players today want yo be buddies with each other. That crap didn’t fly in the 80’s and 90’s.

that's really the bigger difference. my son loves all basketball, so i endure NBA with him. i viewed it as an exhibition game and enjoyed it for that sake.

i tell him all the time this sort of shite is not what we had in the 80s and 90s. those dudes hated each other and you could tell they barely even wanted to be on the same team together. Lebron trying to set up Jokic or Luka for poster dunk would be an unthinkable concept 30 years ago.

Ewing, Miller, Barkley, Stockton, Malone, Thomas, Lambier, etc.

His closest example to that is Draymond.

That's absolutely not true. Total assists are at an all-time high so the team game is flourishing. Scoring is up because three point shooting is king.

Free throw shooting % is at an all-time high as well so players can shoot better than ever before. The offensive game has never been as skilled with as much ball movement as today.

I was more referring to the players all being buddies and wanting to play together instead of beat each other like competitive athletes are supposed to do.
