Ray Ciccarelli announced the end of his NASCAR Truck Series career with a furious Facebook post on Wednesday shortly after NASCAR banned Confederate flags from all events.
Ciccarelli, 50, has participated in 18 Truck Series races over the past four years, though none in 2020. He has finished in the top 10 once — a No. 9 placing at the Michigan International Speedway last year.

Well its been a fun ride and dream come true but if this is the direction Nascar is headed we will not participate after the 2020 season is over," Ciccarelli announced in a Facebook post (all misspellings are his own). "I don't believe in kneeling during Anthem nor taken ppl right to fly whatever flag they love. "I could care less about the Confederate Flag but there are ppl that do and it doesn't make them a racist all you are doing is f—ing one group to cater to another."

Good for him, but bowing out isn’t the way to get back at them. He should have showed them up by beating them o the track.

He is correct
None of these SJW tards are going to get into Nascar, so pandering to them with the LGBT shite they posted the other day, and alienating your fans with this is a dumb move.
And it has already come back to bite them in the arse, as Moodys downgraded them, and had nothing kind about their future.
Going Woke, when these fools won't support your product, will send you home Broke.
Sure, he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, but he's 100% correct about Nascar shitting on it's fans.
Nascar needs everyone of these rednecks at their tracks to survive.

A man with some balls apparently.
He was an awful driver. He quit a job he was awful at.
Doesn't equal balls or courage.
NASCAR should honor him by building a statue of this loser. Oh, that wouldn't make sense? Then sounds like he needs to shut the hell up.

The rednecks stopped showing up years ago when NASCAR wasn't pandering to groups that rednecks usually dislike to pander to.
The sport died when Earnhardt died. It sustained for a few more years but the COT and awful leadership is what killed NASCAR, and it has nothing to do with the decisions they've made over the last several weeks.

At least he had a job unlike these protesting/rioting losers.

Your opinion doesn't have a factual basis. Not all protesters are jobless. However, this dude was an awful driver and quitting over something like this is just him trying to draw attention to himself.
He's racist at best. No one in this thread can convince me otherwise. If you quit your job over not being able to show off a Confederate flag, you have to be one racist piece of shite. Don't spin it as having integrity or morals.

Trying to go national while abandoning their core fanbase is what killed NASCAR. They didn't realize that they would never be really popular outside of the South and a few pockets of the Midwest no matter what they did.

Their plan worked until the product turned to shite.
Not to mention social media taking off and not many wanting to sit around and watching a boring race with limited passing for 500 miles. These Wednesday night races are the first time I've watched NASCAR in years (outside of the superspeedways) and even then I find myself flipping channels and turning back at the end.

They aren't pandering to the LGBT/BLM crowd, they are pandering to their sponsors. Without their sponsors it doesn't matter how many confederate flag waving rednecks are in the stands there is no NASCAR. It was not a dumb move, it was the only move if they want to continue as a national sport.

Everyone says NASCAR can ban the Confederate Flags from their races, but can they? Sure NASCAR can ban it on tracks they own, but what about non-NASCAR tracks? Tracks like Indy, Pocono, Kentucky, Charlotte, Dover, Atlanta, Bristol, Vegas, Texas and Sonoma. That's 16 out of the 36 races on the NASCAR schedule.
NASCAR would have no legal sway at those races. Plus what about the fact that many of these facilities have received state money over the years. Does that not make them quasi-state facilities? If these facilities want to be truly private then they need to give that state money back. I really would like to hear the legal arguments on that.
