kyrie is an elite scorer on top of being a good shooter vs curry being an elite shooter thats good at scoring. if that makes any sense
them guarding each other would be interesting just because neither of them has a considerable size advantage. i think kyrie is quicker which helps but you cant give a nod to either because theyre both pretty abysmal on ball defenders

It always comes down to 'what do you value' as the underlying thing. For a lot of people, Kyrie does more. For a lot of other people, Curry makes his team better than Kyrie makes his team.
Mileages will invariably vary, but there's arguments to be had in all of sports like this one. Even though your friend is wrong, overall.
