The Cowboys uniform is horrible. A mishmash of 3 different blues, 3 different "silvers", one of which is actually green. The simplistic idea is great, but the execution is horrible. This needs to be fixed. One blue. One silver.

There is always a debate as to what color exactly are the cowboys pants.. I've heard grey, silver, blue, and green. Personally, I say they are grey-ish blue. I think the color scheme works well for them. i also love the matching stripes on pants and helmet with the simple star logo, its classic. The little blue nameplate sticker on the back of the helmet is cool too.. glad they kept that over the years

The Dolphins throwbacks are nice (especially when you consider that teal rarely looks good).

yes! the colors work great for a team in Miami.

they are basically the Saints throwback uniform with different colors

There was a time when all NFL uniforms were essentially identical and only the colors differentiated one team from another. I read that was done by design.. someone tuning into a random game on TV would automatically know they were watching a professional football game. I would imagine that could be frustrating for someone without color TV!

Just on principle alone, the Patriots wearing a red jersey is moronic. Do y'all really not realize the redcoats were the Brits???

love the subtle nod to Georgia Tech in the Atlanta helmet - what?

The Falcons main colors (black/red) were chosen to represent UGA. They added a gold stripe on the helmet to show some love to GA tech, it kinda feels like a underhanded compliment or an afterthought but i think its cool

They stopped doing it shortly thereafter, but their throwback uniform still uses the gold stripe

the most recent rendition of Atlanta's uniform has incorporated the gold back into the helmet

Why the F did they feel the need to base the colors off of UGA? Is UGA that big of an influence?

actually, yes! NFL wasn't always king, the teams (especially expansion teams) had to try all sorts of gimmicks to attract a fan base.

here is an interesting tidbit to show how far the NFL has come... you know those god-awful Denver throwbacks? those uniforms were borrowed from some local rugby team b/c the football team couldn't afford their own!

I disagree. These are some of the best unis in the game, but they went away from it with the new uniforms.

Why have teams moved away from wearing alternate jerseys as much as they used to? We're lucky to see them once a season if at all for most teams. The Falcons haven't worn the black alternate (not throw back) in years.

If by alternate you mean throwback then it is b/c the NFL no longer allows teams to wear an alt helmet. It has something to do with concussion concerns. So, unless the throwback helmet is the same color as the current helmet, the team can't wear a throw back uniform.

I mean alternate as gold Saints, black Falcons, red Giants, black Eagles, etc.
