Wow...I seriously thought they'd wait till the end of the year to pull the plug.

It was expecting Foley to wait until after the FSU game. He had a shot of beating UGA, UT, and FSU in the same year.

And that's exactly why they didn't. If FSU fricked up and lost to Florida, Foley wasn't going to deal with another year of losing to teams they shouldn't while beating those guys. Pretty smart move to do it now before he could really garner some favor in potentially beating FSU.

An Ohio State - Florida bowl matchup certainly would be interesting.

He became president of YSU in May. Seems unlikely he'd go back into coaching.

He's still under his show cause until December 2016. And he'd be suspended for the first 5 games of the season as well as any post-season matchups if you get him before the show cause expires.

I really don't see Florida taking that chance when they probably have some better options who are available right now.

Interesting, but I'd want Patterson or Gundy over him.

I see he will be still coaching the final two games, just like Zook did.

Not sure why Michigan doesnt make the same move.

That makes sense the more I think about it.

I could see that. Or them calling Stoops (OK) or Patterson.

Curious as to what Florida fans think about Marshall's Doc Holliday since he was there from 2005-2007 and is an offensive guy who also has a decent knowledge of defense. Might not be as big of a name as they'd want though. Still think whomever snatches him up will have a good hire.
