Muirfield votes not to accept women

This morning in the UK, one of the oldest golf clubs in the world failed to reach a 2/3 majority vote to allow women in their club. Muirfield is a frequent host of arguably the most important championship in all of sports, the Open Championship. This could damage the game going forward. Personally I don't have a problem with having men's only/ women's only clubs.

Most of the U.K. is going the way of liberal bastards and SJWs, but it appears the best part of the U.K. is holding out against the pull of them. Good for that club to hold its traditions

The PGA doesn't really have anything to do with The Open Championship. It's put on by the R&A.

Club can allow whoever they want. R&A can put on tournament wherever they want. Simple as that.

The R&A released a statement moments after the vote was made public stating that Muirfield will be removed from the Open Championship rotation until the vote is reassessed and reversed.

They came very close to the 2/3 needed, so I'm sure it will come.
I don't have a problem with gender-specific clubs, and think it's a shame it won't host the Open for a while.

Hoping that that female sports writer...sorry, drawing a blank on her name....who writes for USA Today does not hear bout this. She'll come unglued & will be writing about this for the next 2 yrs or until/if the vote is reversed.
