This isn't exactly a phrase but what is killing me nowadays in sports media:

As soon as someone has a decent little run of success, wins a couple of games, etc the talking heads want to know if they have reached "elite" status. It doesn't take much to be considered elite by the media anymore (see Matt Ryan)

This isn't a recent development, but it drives me nuts when a team wins two championships in a row and are immediately labeled a "dynasty".

The Celtics in the '60s were a dynasty. John Wooden's UCLA was a dynasty.

Sports people, try to have some historical perspective.

The one reason I'm glad football is over is because I don't have to see Merrill Hodges midget head/giant tie knot standing in from of the touch screen telling me about a FACTOR BACK.

"Respect"

We have to "respect" their defense, i am not signing a contract until i get the "respect" i deserve, they didn't "respect" our speed on the outside, etc.

Some of y'all complain too much. What are these announcers supposed to say that doesn't piss you off?

Would you like for a comedian to use the same jokes every appearance?
