Youre describing judo more than traditional or brazillian jiu-jitsu
Judo is a style of jiu-jitsu, like BJJ is a style of jiu-jitsu (derived from judo?).
Same thing. In the modern world of MMA JJ=BJJ which is though of as ground fighting, but Jiu-jitsu includes judo throws.
It's all jumbled together.

this is true, jigaro kano came up with judo by observing the various forms of jiujitsu at the time.
then as judo started, some were oriented more towards the throws and some forms more towards the ground. maeda who went to the brazil was a student of Kano I believe. fwiw brazil has the 2nd highest japanese population in the world

Okay, I think I figured out who you are now. I just had lunch with Adam Wagner. He said you used to be on Badeaux's team.
Yea, I know Adam. Talked to Badeaux the other day. Did you play Fantasy Football with Badeaux? or where you on the Wells Softball team?
