The #Royals have acquired RHP Johnny Cueto from Cincinnati as well as cash considerations for LHPs Brandon Finnegan, John Lamb and Cody Reed
Holy shite. The Reds got hosed. A relief pitcher, the Royals 26th ranked prospect and a 24 year old former top 100 prospect whos not in the Royals top 30.

hell of a trade for the royals
Posted on 7/26/15 at 2:07 pm to Lsuhoohoo
As a Reds fan, I'm used to getting hosed. Congrats on the steal Royals.

lol at Royal fans who think they will sign Cueto.
they needed Reds to eat some of Cuetos deal for christs sake.

I doubt many Royals fans seriously think they'll be re-signing Cueto.
Posted on 7/26/15 at 2:15 pm to stlslick
I dont care if they resign or not hes a player we need if we're gonna make a run at the world series this year. If we resign him after this season great if not its whatever. not like we gave up a whole lot for him.

Royals fans, what can you tell me about Lamb and Reed? I'm pretty happy with Finnegan.
Posted on 7/26/15 at 2:18 pm to Pedro
We got the #55 prospect in baseball and some throw in guys. That's just what get for a half season rental.

Finnegan is a starter

Yankees could have offered that and taken Phillips
Posted on 7/26/15 at 2:25 pm to barry
24 games in the minors, 12 starts. 21 games in the majors 0 starts.

He came into the league early to help on their playoff run. He was sent back down this year to get stretched out back into a starter.

I don't know if we got hosed or not. We get Finnegan(Royals #1 pick last year, Lamb(former top prospect who's had TJ and is 9-1 in AAA this year), and Reed(played at Northwest CC here in MS, 7-7 with a 2 something ERA in AA). This is for a 2 month rental. I just wish we'd get a bat or two. Winker and Waldrop are the only decent hitting prospects in the system.

I'm pleased but now they need some bats with the Leake and Chapman trades.
Posted on 7/26/15 at 2:29 pm to Lsuhoohoo
Yep, he was called up Sept. 1 last year for playoff run. He was drafted to be a starter and sent out of Spring Training in late March to get stretched out. He will start for the Reds.

Heard Buster Olney say Chapman likely going to Yankees. We need a few bats if that deal takes place.
Posted on 7/26/15 at 2:35 pm to msudawg1200
quote:that doesn't make much sense in reality, he wouldn't be closing and Yankees have no desire to give up their top prospects. So if it happened it woudd be a package of their 2nd tier of prospects.
say Chapman likely going to Yankees

I agree it doesn't make sense with Miller and Betances, but if happened Chapman would close.
Posted on 7/26/15 at 2:44 pm to msudawg1200
quote:nope, he wouldn't... he would get some closing opportunities but from listening to Yankees beat writers and radio host he would be mixed in to form dominating end of the rotation. That Joe would be more willing to bring in any 3 of them in high leverage situations.
but if happened Chapman would close.
