4 day games today to start things off. STL/Minny and then the Stros are the two games I'll keep my eyes on.

My topic for discussion: will the Phillies FO agree to finally sell key pieces? I know they've asked for a King's ransom in the past, but they are 6 weeks away from getting nothing but comp picks. They have to do SOMETHING, right?

Also I like this Nats/Chapman talk . Nats have too many plus starters in the minors and desperately need a lefty in the back end. It makes sense.

They have to move Hammels and Papelbon, right?

Isn't Howard's contract too shitty?

Marlins looking to take the series from the Yankees. Got dominated by Pineda last night. Excited to see if Latos can repeat his last performance.

Following Hamels trade rumors has become like watching a 31st MLB team at this point.

Yup... I was reading that Phillies would like to move him for anything
Maybe a change of scenery is what he needs, the Phillies are supposed to be playing him in hopes he hits and they can move him.

Kershaw has a higher K rate than last year, however, the rest of his numbers are below average....

2.2 walks per/9 vs last year 1.4 and year before 2.0
0.9 home runs per/9 vs last year 0.4 and year before 0.4
7.3 hits per/9 vs last year 6.3 and year before 6.3

He has thrown 3 wild pitches this year vs 7 last year
He has walked 34 batters this yea vs 39 last year
He has given up 38 runs this year vs 42 last year
He has given up 75 hits this year vs 138 last year

He is getting hit more often as it seems he is falling behind more this year than in previous years. Maybe hitters have learned to lay off of some of his pitches.

His BABIP and his HR/FB rate are all waaaayyyyyy above his average. His FIP and SIERA point to better than career average ERA and his K/BB ratio are right where they usually are. He's not been as good as last year, but last year was one of the greatest single seasons a pitcher has ever had. He just had 4 great starts and I expect him to continue after last night

I think we'll look back in October and see how this year fell in line with his others. Might not be on line with his past 2, but the 2 previous to those
