An undefeated SEC champ goes to the playoffs and we don't need a horribly difficult SEC to do that.

How often is there an undefeated SEC champ?

As it stand now, there's actually arguments for one-loss SEC champs getting in over undefeated champions of other conferences.

I am rooting wholeheartedly for FSU, but make no mistake, should AU win (they won't), I'll rub that shite in the face of any motherfricker that wants to talk shite about the SEC.

True. Considering I'm on the border of Oklahoma and Kansas. I had tons of people on facebook talkin smack on the SEC after OU beat Bama. Now they believe OU is the best team in the country, saying shite like "I thought the Big 12 didn't play football", etc. This comes from media jealousy, hearing Big 12 coaches, AD, Presidents talkin shite on the SEC in local papers, news segments, etc. They don't come in contact with a lot of SEC fans.

Yes OU beating Bama from the mighty SEC got fans in this area beating their chest, SEC now sucks, OU is the best, Big 12 knows how to play football, etc. Well Mizzou silenced some of that talk. Like I said if Oklahoma State had beat Mizzou by 10pts there would be tons of Big 12 fans talkin shite on the SEC considering Okie State already beat Miss State earlier in the season. Not talkin about this board, but on facebook, in Big 12 country, etc. If there's any conference that hate the SEC, it's the Big 12. I promise you the Big 12 hate the SEC more than the B1G.

When you are playing some Yankee team, or a team from out west, it is always nice to remind them how much better in the south, we are at football than they are.

Rub in their assfaces that our brand of football is better, and when we line up on the field against them, they are going to get their asses kicked.

This - I hate Alabama and Florida but I NORMALLY want them blow other teams out in bowl games - just to remind everyone how difficult it is to amass a respectable won/loss record in the SEC.

HOWEVER - this year I was happy to see OU beat Alabama - and I have hated Oklahoma since my high school days back in the 50s.

First time I have EVER felt good about a Sooner victory. And the first time I have not supported an SEC team in the bowl games.

I don't chant Sun Belt

That is because the Sun Belt is a small conference and not up for any type of BCS bowl much less a NC. Your Sun Belt comparison does not relate to the SEC.

Sorry it's too tough for you to understand.

There is nothing worthwhile in your position to even attempt to "understand"...you have a hated rival, you want them to lose, but if they happen to win you are going to cite some nonsensical "SEC pride" and claim bragging rights regardless.

Part of the problem is...no one really cares about the SEC outside of SEC country. That's the long and short of it...and if y'all spend more than five minutes in some geographical location outside of your circle-jerk, you would figure that out fairly quickly and realize how silly you look.

Professional football is different in how teams are selected for playoffs/the Super Bowl, etc. You also must've missed my point about the vast majority of the kids playing for top level SEC teams being from the region.

Well, you don't have any reason to be a Yankees fan anyways, so who gives a frick?

People love to hate the SEC, and when the fans start the chant, it's like poking the bee hive.
I always enjoy the meltdowns due to the SEC chant.

Some meltdowns from SEC member fans are just as good as the ones from B1G,Big12,Pac fans.

SEC chant is so stupid. I went to LSU not SEC. Screw the rest of the conference. Mizzou winning does not make a recruit want to go to LSU. And frick Wildcats or Admiral Akbars for claiming my team's wins.

For some reason coaches and fans love talkin shite on the SEC. You might want to read ESPN boards and you'll see. Read yahoo after Bama lost to OU and you'll see fans talkin shite on the SEC. Wth are you talkin about, people love seeing SEC teams lose.

SEC SEC SEC. This chant is very important to branding the kind of football played in the south. If anyone understands the branding concept, you would know that perception and image is key to reap benefits. Benefits such as recruits telling the media "I chose LSU, Alabama, etc to play in the SEC", or getting our teams into the BCS bowls or next year into the playoffs, or getting better television ratings which produce cash flow because the nation wants to watch and the list goes on. I hope this chant continues to build up the brand SEC and not get lost because of some fans who have no vision of the big picture.

There's plenty to understand, you're just incapable, and since you don't that makes us "stupid".

Read Dixielad Delight by Clay Travis. You might get a clue.

I really never should have mentioned this, as it hurts my argument, but I'm an honest guy. Like there is a difference between actively rooting for an SEC rival and chanting "SEC!" in one of your teams' OOC games, there is a difference between doing this and the chant as well. I don't fault people for thinking my rubbing an AU win in the face of an OOC team might be lame, but again, this is a different practice than the chant, and there is nothing stupid about doing the "SEC!" chant.

I wonder why they even bother to talk shite, if they DGAF.

But, you being a Yankees fan just helps my case that you simply don't get it in terms of the SEC chant.

I promise you a lot of Mizzou fans at the game last night attended Mizzou. There's not a big bandwagon following for Mizzou. Mizzou fans chanted SEC as a shot at the Big 12. They heard the trash talk from the Oklahoma and Kansas schools. Those schools were pissed when Mizzou left, wanted Mizzou to fail in the SEC. So the SEC chant to BIG 12 Okie State, their fans, AD, President, etc was epic. And I'm pretty sure the Big 12 commish was there.

I get that it is all one big circle jerk and fans in the sec pull for their rivals. What you don't understand is how dumb you sound when you say you are an Alabama fan but will rub an Auburn victory in people's face.
