quote:
1. Minnesota's national championships are history.
never again.
2. They have one or two 4 star guys and a few three star guys, each year. Hockey is king.
no one in a position to move up in the SEC would take that job.
If someone were fired, they might take it to support their family.
Your ignorance is both amusing and sad. Iowa and Wisconsin were both within 1 game of being undefeated and having a shot at the BCS game. Minnesota has six national titles. Iowa and Wisconsin due it with Minnesota recruits and by getting recuits from Illinois and Ohio. Minnesota can do that as well.
Hockey while popular in Minnesota is not king. How you draw that conclusion is puzzling. As a whole the Vikings and Twins are much more popular than the Minnesota Wild and college hoops at the University of Minnesota is more popular than hockey. Tubby Smith is much more higher profile than the hockey coach.
Minnesota produces a lot of quality football players. Larry Fitzgerland and Sentreal Henderson are from Minnesota. The Bagders get good players from Minnesota and a lot of Minnesotans stock the Divisions 1-AA programs in the Dakotas. If you took what Minnesota produces and bring in recruits from Wisconsin, Illinois, Ohio and other states you have a winning program.
