Come on dude. You fire someone, fine. It had to be done. Leave it at that. Don't publicly say it was "easy".

quote:

The team’s decision to waive Carlson after two regular season games was “pretty easy,” according to Zimmer.

“Did you see the game?” Zimmer asked rhetorically.

The audio sounds worse.

Best it wasn't as easy as the Browns decision

If you mean I have expectations for how people should behave and if they don't meet those expectations, I have a low opinion of them, sure, I'm sensitive

So what exactly did he say that was so awful?

If he was cut for purely performance reasons, there was no need to say what Zimmer said.

Not the biggest deal ever. But that wasn't nice at all.

Just watched the clip. It's not that bad. As a matter of fact, it's pretty damn gentle.

This is the pros. He cost them a win.

"What went into the decision to cut Carlson?"

"Did you see the game?"

"Was it an easy decision?"

"Pretty easy."

Again, he said it was an easy decision to cut a kicker that missed 3 field goals. Not some over the top statements. I’ll bet all you guys are the same posters that bitch about everyone being too easily offended in society these days.

It’s unprofessional at best and hypocritical at worst

Not something I’d lose any sleep over, but plenty of kickers have bounced back after a rough rookie year so if somewhere down the line if he kicked them out the playoffs I’d find it pretty amusing.

Vikings definitely upgraded in the kicking department, though.

For sure. I’d bet that Dan Bailey wasn’t a fan of those comments himself, i feel like that would create a weird dynamic, but they are kickers so I guess there already is one

He answered the question without referencing anything personal about the player in a degrading way. Just because he didn’t put some bullshite positive spin on it that everyone always complains about the coaches doing doesn’t mean he was being unprofessional.
