Exactly. He was free to say what he said, and he did. The NFL is free to punish him, and they did. People are free to bash the NFL for it, and they are.

I personally don't think anything should have happened to him but the overreactions are ridiculous and on par with the NFL's.

This is a shame. Feel bad for the Dolphins guy.

I guess the NFL will have its little commercial near the end of each game with the narration "this is a presentation by the NFL..." and instead of the clips in years past with Eddie George and Peyton Manning it will have Sam embracing and kissing his homosexual lover.
