I'm just pissed that Randle got hurt because he was the one thing I was looking forward to while watching the 100 nationally televised Laker games

Bill Simmons told Penny Hardaway that the Grizz will owe the Celtics at least half a championship if they win this year because they have 3 former Celts and the GM used to work for them.

No doubt, but when your yearly salary goes from 24 mil to less than 1, that's desperate.

I do, but I misinterpreted the buyout terms.

No buyout terms have been disclosed

The fact is he's not getting his $24 million from the Knicks but he's also not getting just $1 million.

Buyout's are mutual. That's the key. He doesn't have to play for the Knicks anymore and the Knicks don't owe him much. Everyone wins

I'm betting he's getting REALLY close to the full 24m. Probably the whole thing, minus what he signs for with the Mavs.

Again, the players have the leverage. Their contracts are guaranteed. Amare can basically say "hey, i'm very happy to dress in a suit and watch you guys play all year long and take up a roster space, OR you can pay me what you will pay me anyway, minus 500k, free up a spot, and we'll part ways now"

I mean, maybe there's a chance he took a 22m or so buyout, but I guarantee you it didn't get lower than that.

0 chance he took a pay cut from 22 million to 19 million to go from the worst team in the league to a legit chance to get a ring in the last effective years of his career.
