Former Georgia Tech and Cleveland Cavaliers star Mark Price will be the next head coach of the Charlotte 49ers.
The news was first reported by ESPN.com and the Charlotte Observer.
Price will replace Alan Major, who parted ways Charlotte earlier this month after five seasons. The 49ers were 75-81 during those five years.
Price has spent the past two seasons as an assistant coach with the Charlotte Hornets, having worked as a coach for the Magic, the Hawks, the Grizzlies and the Warriors. His only stint in college was as an assistant with Georgia Tech in 1999-2000.
In college, Price was an all-american, and he was a four-time all-star in the NBA.

hopefully Price can get the 49ers turned around, they used to have a really good basketball program

Hopefully he can gain some good experience and come back home to Tech. He wanted the job before Gregory, but did not have much of a coaching resume. Tech Hoops is in a sad state of affairs
