Going back home

quote:

Trade: Patriots are finalizing a deal to send QB Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars, sources tell ESPN. The trade cannot be processed until the new league year begins Wednesday and he passes a physical. The two sides were discussing a 6th-round pick, per sources.

Jones was born in Jacksonville; now he has the chance to go home.

Never made sense

Threw for a ton of yards to nfl wide receivers in empty stadiums against teams that weren't fully engaged.

There were 40 other college qbs who could have recreated that season.

Jags should have waited till pats cut him
Why even give up a pick
Jones is like mccarron
Career backup
He will probably end up in xfl

I would think they could get a better backup with their 6th round pick.

If he works hard he may be able to carve out a nice little career jumping from team to team as a career second/third string QB.

I think this is a good pickup for Jax. Solid backup so the wheels don’t completely come off if Trevor is out a few games.

Most 6th round picks don’t last in the NFL beyond 2 or 3 years. Quite a few of them even get cut before the season starts. I don’t know if Mac will get better but he can be at least be a career backup kind of guy

That will retire as a multimillionaire at 35 and be set for life, the horror.

Looks like ol’ McCorkle is already angling for the hometown golden parachute insurance gig.
