Maybe they should be gone, but it looks like there were far bigger issues than just the Louisville basketball scandal.

But he came under increasing fire for embezzlement scandals and a string of other embarrassments, including an FBI investigation of top university officials for alleged misuse of federal money and an NCAA investigation into whether a university employee paid women to strip and have sex with basketball players.

That school has been a constant litany of scandals for years now. I'm amazed Ramsey hadn't been fired years ago. Not even thinking about the Pitino and Petrino scandals.

I'm a UK fan obviously, but UL has been an embarrassment in this regard. I hate these kinds of headlines, makes the whole state look bad. Sounds like Bevin is trying to clean it up though.

Bevin's just trying to stack the deck in his favor. He doesn't have anymore an interest in improving UofL's situation than anyone in the office before him.

But you're correct in that Ramsey has been a poor president for awhile. The Courier-Journal detailed all of the scandals that's occurred under him and there's been millions lost in embezzlement scandals. Fans being upset with him over his premature post-season ban was just the nail in the coffin.

Back in Feb/March when the President announced that UL wouldn't participate in March Madness, then announced he was going to remove the statue to Confederate veterans who died during the war, a friend on the UL faculty said he wouldn't make it through the year.

He was right.

My school does a lot of collaboration with UofL with the School of Music, Speed School (Engineering), and School of Education. And I've yet to meet one person who actually likes the guy. I can give him a little bit of a pass on the Confederate Memorial situation. That was primarily Mayor Fischer's doing and using racism as an excuse to open up traffic in that area.

When Ramsey came to speak to some of our students, some UofL students actually picketed his visit.

Has no effect on UK basketball. Doesn't appear it will have an effect on UL basketball either.

We need to make Louisville threads a mandatory start on the SEC Rant. That way the Kentucky fans won't come out of hibernation and shite up the board

Ironically the only time I see you post on multiple boards is when you're shitting up threads bitching about something that you didn't have to click on.

Seems like everyone is having a fairly rational, grown up conversation in this thread. You should try it sometime.

Maybe they all had compromising pictures of previous governors.

Hello pot, meet kettle. Tell us again about the multiple programs Calipari has put on probation, but yet he is suddenly clean at UK

Pretty sure he (among others) was defending UofL forcing Ramsey's resignation based upon the previous, well documented, scandals that have occurred in his tenure. And not just as a scapegoat for the scandal as the OP is suggesting.

Can you provide me a link to any ncaa announcment of official sanctions against Calipari for any incident?

You should really focus your energy on UL. I think I said earlier, this saddens me for my state, and the embarrassment it has become in the academic and coaching world at UL. It's really quite sad.

Cal's an angel. He had nothing to do whatsoever with having final fours vacated from 2 different schools.

UK is the one program that should not be talking about morals. History of corruption
