Dan Wolken?Verified account @DanWolken Follow More Interesting note just pointed out to me. If Tom Jurich gets fired, Bobby Petrino's buyout goes down to $4.25 million this year.

That's not the way the contract reads.

Petrino would have to pay the university those payments if HE terminated the contract, and 50% of those if Jurich was no longer the AD.

That says the employee will pay that to the employer if the employee leaves.

They're covering their arse because petrino is a piece of shite with no loyalty.

Much like the OM football job, I don’t see anyone serious taking this one before they find out what they are getting into.

At the least they will have a school president who wants to clean up the program as well as at least one major recruit likely to be declared ineligible.

As the FBI investigation proceeds, they may release info on more players in the program and the NCAA will be looking to hammer them as repeat offenders considering that this was on the heels of the hooker scandal.

Holy shite it's real

This. So often, stories like this are lots of smoke and very little fire.

This story isn't even 24 hours old and Pitino and Jurich are gone. shite is real, y'all.

Serious question....will getting out in front of this so quickly and firing Pitino and Jurich save Louisiville from the possibility of severely crippling sanctions from the NCAA, or even , dare I say it, the death penalty?

Pitino in 2011:

quote:

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Rick Pitino said Tuesday that he won't coach past the 2016-2017 season when his current contract ends at Louisville.

"When you're 59, you're realistic that you don't have a whole lot of years left," Pitino said at a news conference before the No. 4 Cardinals play No. 12 Georgetown on Wednesday. "My contract's going to run out in 2017. I'm not coaching anymore after that."

Prophetic.

It won't hurt, but they're still in major trouble.
