LAS VEGAS -- The hype surrounding Lonzo Ball and the Lakers-Celtics rivalry has led to Las Vegas Summer League history as Saturday's session sold out by noon on Friday, according to Warren LeGarie, Las Vegas Summer League executive director. While there have been sellouts on the day of in seasons past, this marks the first time in the 14 years that the NBA summer league has been held at Las Vegas that an entire day session at the Thomas & Mack Center and Cox Pavilion sold out of tickets in advance. The $30 general admission tickets for Saturday's game have been selling on ticket resale sites for $250 each.

quote:

Thomas & Mack's capacity will be at approximately 15,000 with Cox holding another 2,500, according to the NBA. The most expensive seat runs $400 for courtside. But the majority of the seats are not assigned and will be first come, first serve. A pair of VIP courtside tickets to Saturday's summer league, with a combined face value of $800, sold for $5,150, including fees, on StubHub.

That just goes to show you that controversy sells.

Get on TV and act an arse and say outlandish crap and you get people talking. No matter if it's positive or negative, people will be interested.

It's why boxers talk trash before fights and create drama and it's why music stars do and say ridiculous stuff to stay in the news.

It's why Lavar Ball plays his character.

He's the new guy everyone is latching onto now that Lebron only has a few years left.

Lebron James went 2-14 with 6 turnovers in a summer league game once iirc

I'm kinda surprised at this. I was there when Julius Randle, Greek Freak, and the Unicorn played and it wasn't as packed.

i thought he looked ok in the first half. he got tired in the 2nd half and then he had trouble. he is never going to be a great on ball defensive player but what 19 year old guard ever does?

this is already something that was understood

he did so literally all the time at UCLA
