Sad day. Back in college I interned in the sports dept at Channel 13 with Bob. Lots of fun stories but this one's my favorite:
Kobe had just gotten busted and he was doing that press conference with his wife wearing the big pink diamond he bought to try and make up for it. Myself, Bob, Tim Melton, Bob Slovac, and a few other production guys were sitting in the sports office watching the press conference trying to see what we'd use in the sportscast that night.
Out of nowhere 80-something year old Marvin Zindler turns the corner and walks in. I had been there for a few months and Marvin had never come back there so we were all kinda shocked. He asks what we're doing and we explained we were watching the Kobe press conference. Out of nowhere he proclaims (and this is verbatim) "You know what I'd do if I were Kobe's lawyers? I'd just have him stand up in court and whip out that big ole black dick and be like, 'that's what tore that little white girl's pussy up is that big ole black dick!'"
We all just kinda sat there frozen, looking at each other and trying not to die laughing until he was out of the room. Good times.
