Yeah last year was Patterson’s year to beat us and you could tell the way by the way they felt when they fell short

This year they’ll get on the bus, get a butt whipping, and go back home… this point in the season you kind of know what each team has

LINK /

We’re a step closer to figuring out our playoff system this year… but my guess is 204 schools won’t show up to decide the definition of select. If it looks like they’ll have enough, some will probably walk out and it will all be a pre-planned thing. This is Louisiana where we do shenanigans (especially the North LA small school principals)

Then they’re going to have votes like they did for class 5A a few years ago trying to end the split, with the idea that every sport in every classification will get to vote on it… but if it didn’t happen for class 5A in football, it won’t happen for anybody IMO. Some principals and ADs tried to use political reasoning then to explain why they voted like they voted, but the truth is, they don’t want to end the split, no matter what the consequences are for the association as a whole

Where should they be?

They can make a move this week.

The biggest strike was getting blown out at home by Warren Easton.

They began the year No. 4 and moved up to No. 3 in Week 2.

It's time for this to come to a conclusion. We need either of the following:

A) End the Split

B) Split in all sports, get rid of Classes, and do districts based on the split / divisions

This half-in, half-out stuff needs to end. It is beyond stupid.

I know Catholic has to be disappointed with their last two losses. But I can’t see 21 Louisiana schools being better than CHS. I took a miracle of sorts for UHigh to beat CHS. And I see UHigh being ranked much lower on that list than they should be.

I just don’t see much smaller schools like Calvery Baptist or St Charles, who are ranked much higher, being able to stay with CHS.

I would have CHS in the 10-14 range.

Catholic lost to U High, which lost to Dunham in last year’s playoffs.

Man, Patterson is bad. Bunkie held them to 50 yards for the game a few weeks ago.

Their old coach is doing a good job at Lafayette High. He got the job very late. He didn’t have much time to install his schemes.

I didn't do a lot of checking but im assuming Patterson lost a lot from last year? Their qb and one of their receivers were unstoppable when bunkie played them last year and when i saw they ran 53 plays for a total of 50 yards i was surprised. With that being said Bunkie is way better than last year also.

This is what happens when there's no coaching stability. Even in Minton's "bad" years that would've never happened.

Patterson lost alot of talent and they brought in somebody completely new instead of hiring from within with a late coaching change. I really wish Tremaine Lightfoot had gotten that job.

1. What does last year have to do with anything? Didn’t Dunham and CHS play to a tie in last years Jamboree? Didn’t CHS beat UHS handily last year? Last year has nothing to do with this weeks state rankings.

2. Catholic was better last year than this year. No one disputed that. But, again, that has nothing to do with this weeks state rankings.

3. UHigh is better this year this with their 4 star QB transfer. Just like Dunham became a championship caliber team last year with their out of state transfer QB with college offers.

IMO - both CHS and UHigh are to low in the linked rankings.

You might need to change your tune if Calvary Baptist beats Westgate next week.

St Charles Catholic scored 48 on Teurlings Catholic, which is a solid Class 4A program.

I've heard that.

I've also heard that HC wants to stop playing CHS. The new headmaster doesn't really see any value in the game.

The reality is that we have very few kids from Da Parish attending HC these days. For the kids on the field, on both teams, the "rivals" aspect is only held up as rivals because of the alums on both sides.

I know also that the CHS people were annoyed last year when HC decided to make it a home and home. That was done kind of at the last minute and left CHS with only 4 home games last year. Also, playing on a Saturday afternoon, in September, at Gormley is absolutely terrible.

Maybe we should be like Zachary and demand the road game is a Friday night game

I watched the Patterson game last week. 0 discipline and horrible line play. They must of had ten 15 yard penalties. Hard to believe, but they are the 2nd worst team in St Mary Parish.
