Article made it seem like refs let game get way out of hand..and not calling a foul on someone whose face gets busted open could set off more than a few people. Blame the refs squarely

So it's ok for the Albany players' daddy to run out on the court and call the refs cheaters because little Timmy got a scratch above his eye?

It was apparently a gash and he was bleeding pretty heavily, and then the evangel fans started harassing him. What year did you graduate from evangel ?

I really don't understand how fans/parents get so heated during a game that they do this.....

quote:

One Albany fan, who had been ragging the officials the entire game, stepped onto the court and began calling the officiating crew (from Monroe) “cheaters.”

Another video link

Back when I was in school there it was nothing but a bunch of squirmy white boys on the team.

I'm hearing that one of the Albany players received a pretty nasty gash to his face and was bleeding heavily. The kids dad went on the court to check on his kid and the Evangel fans were taunting him and throwing shite at him. That's when the players started going after the fans evidently. Who knows what really happened

It is shitty that both benches cleared yet no Evangel players were ejected

Article states Evangel players left court and went into the hallway. Albany players were fighting fans. Seems pretty cut and dry.

Yeah, it's hard to believe some of my sources. They also told me that Albany was winning when the fight started. The video clearly shows Evangel up by 12 points

Along the lines of the Curt Schilling stuff, can fans say absolutely anything they want? Could tell in the video Albany guy was going after student section. We always kind of accept it as part of the game but the herd mentality can take over where people think they can say absolutely anything and not get their arse whipped.

Player did not have a scratch. It was a gash that was bleeding heavily. I heard that from the AT who was covering the game.
The kid who got hits dad apparently got onto a ref (who from the video looks like they did nothing to stop the incident from happening).

If you look up shreveport times on twitter, and click on tweet of the video of the fight, there are plenty comments below

That's what I'm hearing too. Albany got their arse handed to them in the 3rd quarter and emotions were already heated going into 4th quarter. It started getting physical and they were calling ricky tack fouls on Albany, but Evangel was playing really physical and got no calls against them

I would say in professional sports yes. But anything below that, it is the responsibility of the Mgmt to keep people under control. High school for instance, it is the principal's job to keep the students under control. Never should a situation arise where students are getting that bad during a game to where a fight starts. NEVER. Never should the crowd be coming on the floor to berate officials, players or coaches. The only reason a parent should be on the floor is if their child is seriously injured on the floor. And if they do, they have no contact with officials, players or coaching staff.

Jesus is Riverside Academy trying to set a scoring record for the playoffs? What does their team look like? Are they big or just a bunch of 6 foot athletes?
