Killed?

Come on. The exaggeration in this thread is crazy.

I'm confident he would not be playing in the NFL, but not because of lawsuits and Nixon didn't almost kill anyone. Not to defend that a-hole.

Casey must be pissed the Oregonian ran that story when they did. What if they would have waited till after the draft and Omaha?

Then a team would be put in a shitty position of drafting a guy they wouldn't use.

Personally, I'm conflicting about how it went down. It almost seemed like a vendetta against either Heimlich or tBeavers.

Yeah odd
someone had an axe to grind

If Heimlich would not have been tardy on his end, the newspaper would not have found out about it.

What do you mean?

From what I understand, the background check was a standard thing news outlets do when running a piece on someone, so that was nothing out of the ordinary. Then, once a news outlet obtains info like that, they're certainly going to run with it. I don't guess I follow your premise here.

The reports said teams already knew, and was part of the reason he didn't get drafted out of high school.

He was gonna get outed anyway, when he didn't get drafted, someone would have found out why.

I wonder if this guy is going to sue the newspaper or even if he can

Not taking any sides here but the newspaper may have ruined this guy's career and his ability to make money

If they did aren't they doing the same thing to him as he did to that little kid

Gtfo.

The newspaper didn't ruin his career, he ruined it by molesting a little girl.

His career shouldve never even been allowed to get off the ground after that.

What?

By sharing public arrest records? I haven't heard of them doing anything illegal to discover him being a pedophile.

And he ruined his career and life.

This is a troll, right?

Sure he'd get drafted the NFL doesn't give a shite. Mixon nearly killed that girl on video and he'll be getting 15 carries a game this fall.

She shouldnt have repeatedly hit him.

The better question is whether he can sue whichever police department released private records.

The crime wasn't recent nor was it in Oregon

If people wanted to know who the sex offenders are they can go to the local police station as they have to register
So the newspaper claiming to be looking out for the community is actually putting our information from another state that could be found out by anyone who wants to by just looking on the computer or visiting the police station

Could be wrong but I'm confident that because of his age and details of the plea, his information was private info hat the public could not simply access.

Put it this way, if it were, all 30 MLB teams doing their due diligence would have known about this wayyyyyyyy before The Oregonian broke the story.

It's such an odd incident that there really is no precedent for it, yes what Mixon did was awful but we've seen that before.

Pervis Ellison was drafted #1 overall, so anything is possible.

The newspaper isn't at fault. They ran a standard background check and reached out to him for comment.

The mistake was made by the Corvallis police.....oh and playing with a six year old wasn't a good idea....

Was he in any actual danger?
