I went to four games this yr. I know he makes money but other teams could spend on players but they would rather make sure of bigger profith. They haven't realized if you pay you will win consistently and always make money.

facts, no shite man. so many teams are worried about the bottom dollar. if you put money into a team, just like ANY other investment, and its successful, money comes out in the long term.

its the SAME thing

A gentleman I work with has had Yankee season tickets for 26 years (splits them with family.) They started going up a lot in the last few years and obviously they are raping them now with the new stadium. He wrote a letter to the Yankees letting them have it over the gouging they are doing to their loyal fan base.

The Yankees response to that letter was what you would expect it to be:

these fricking morons who think the yankees go out of their way to purchase titles and players......idiots

go do some research and realize how they can afford to pay all the money

I have NO problem with them spending MONEY!!! Every team that CAN does it. But for the amount they have spent and the TOTAL FAIL they have had since 2000 Is sad.

that's not ture, the Yankees make way more than anyone and there are plenty of examples (Mets, O's, LAD) that show spending does not equal auto success.

The Yankees spend much smarter than most and the heart of their team has always been Jeter and Riveria, who are Yankee farm hands.

every team can spend big money, some owners rather put their portion of luxury tax in their pocket instead of in the team. So when they out of it in august I don't feel sorry for em

posada, cano, gardner, pettite, among others

just for example, the yankees have more yankee lifers on their team than the red sox have sox lifers

Riveria is easily the best reliver of all time and a good case was made that he has been the best post season pitcher of all time. That can not be so easily replaced.

Rivera & Hoffman were/are as good as it gets for closers and they did it longterm (unlike Lidge...damn you 2009 Brad Lidge!)

CORRECT!!!

But you can't start him in a must win game six or seven. Morris or Stewart or Gibson, or Smoltz.

Speaking of Bandwagon fans, didn't you switch from like a Cubs fan to a Tiger fan in mid season when the CUbs started to suck?
