Superteams = player collusion

Basically if anyone accepts a contract that isn't their max available value somewhere else that is basically collusion in your stance.

The only issue in the NBA is Curry got hurt and the NBA expanded the salary cap at exactly the right time that allowed the Warriors to sign a top 5 player in the league to a underpaid team.

My problem with the way everybody is calling GS a superteam. Thy legitimaly built theirs from the ground up with Draymond, Steph, and Klay.

I guess I see "super team" as relating to the quality of the team, not exactly how it came together.

When I think of "super team" in this context, I definitely think of forming a team via trades and free agency, not through the draft and development. GS is definitely somewhat of a super team with the addition of Durant, but the past two years they were definitely not, they were just a great team. Miami certainly was and Cleveland was definitely more of an attempt to form a "super team" than GS, though I'd question some of their choices.

The 2004 Laker team was a bigger favorite over Detroit than the 2007 Spurs were against Cleveland. Getting destroyed in 5 games by Detroit doesn't change the fact they were huge favorites.

What's the difference?

If the players didn't want to play with other great players they would let it be known, right? It's two different paths to the same place. Both teams are stacking the talent in their favor.

Lebron's rewriting history. "Not 1. Not 2. Not 3". Doesn't matter if they actually did it. In his mind they were building a super team to win titles. This is not really debatable- despite what he says.

Im not sure Cleveland would make the playoffs without LeBron. They are far from a super team.

all the Kevin Love hate, i dont get it LEBRON chose KEVIN LOVE to join him in Cleveland, that's the only reason why he's there, that's who LBJ wanted and if Love didn't go, Lebron wouldn't have "went home". Blame Lebron for not being able to identify talent.

yeah man, just because they were once great doesn't mean they didn't fall off late in career. As the other guy stated, Malone and Payton? come on man, they may have held that team back lol.

And I love Iggy and Draymond does the dirty work but you dont think others could fill their averages? it's not the same Iggy that was in Philly but his defensive presence is huge for GS. Draymond just gets in the opponents heads.

The difference is Curry and Klay were drafted and the others were acquired through FA or trade. You can't bitch about the GM drafting or evaluating talent well in the draft.

I don't get bitching either way. This was always going to be the norm eventually once free agency was implemented. Why are we bemoaning the players utilizing something that was written into the CBA for their benefit?

All of these arbitrary rules about how teams can come together is just dumb crap that people use as reasons for trashing players they already don't like in the first place.

I have no problem admitting that Lebron is at fault for the talent level on his team if the guys criticizing Lebron will admit that Kevin Love is overrated and not a star.

So if we can agree on that, then the Cavs are literally not a "super team" by the commonly accepted definition of what that is.

They weren't favorites because of Malone and Payton.

They were favorites because they recently three-peated and had Kobe/Shaq

He joined an established star in Wade in Miami and brought in a third in Bosh.

When that super team looked mortal he left to join an up and coming star in Kyrie in Cleveland and brought in a third in KLove.

He's been to 7 straight finals and the entire eastern conference is ready for his arse to decline because it's a 1 team conference (whatever super team Lebron builds).

Just because they aren't as good as the Warriors super team (which was a bit of a perfect storm) doesn't mean they haven't been super teams. Someone else was just better than him at his own game.

Absolute truth. Every sentence.

frick outta here with this bullshite, LeBron. Jesus Christ.

Just saying. There is a reason Kyrie and Love led teams were always in the lottery. Look at their record when LeBron doesnt play. LeBron is just that good.

I mean do people realize Lebron was just pissed at all these questions?

Funny the op didn't post the next part of Lebrons quote

He verbatim said we are a super team here in Cleveland He just didn't want to answer this shite and completely contradicted himself in 30 seconds

Yeah I see your point. It doesn't make me one bit of difference who many superteams there are. I enjoyed the finals. I watched every second of them. I'm joy faulting KD for chasing a ring or Lebron for making the moves he does.

Here is the quote. Lebron says "I believe WE ARE a super team here"

Russilo just broke it down on his show
