trump: You can come to my birthday party.

Steph Curry: Nah, I'll pass.

trump: Well you're not invited anyway!

LeBron: Hey trump, that's kind of stupid, rescinding an invitation after someone already declined.

tbird: LeBron is the idiot here.

trump: Never mind the invite, then. No point.

LeBron: [butts in to virtue signal ]

tbird: LeBron is the idiot here.

Looks like Tbird was correct. Just like he was about the Finals.

Per par

This all because of the media narrative that electing President Trump was a racial backlash to Obama being elected. Which is very stupid. If Obama wasn't president before, none of this is talked about.

You come off as insecure and needing acceptance. Nobody cares that you're black vote went to trump, trump especially doesn't care.

I like to refer to them as "facts," but ok

And for the record, I'm a big fan of LeBron the basketball player. Not so much LeBron the political activist. But my stance on athletes ad libbing about politics is pretty cut and dried anyways--not a fan of that, even if I agree with their politics. Of course it's their right to speak on whatever they wish, but I think it's a little counterproductive to their medium.

Also, for the record, I voted for Trump, but don't blindly support everything he does. Same for any POTUS. But this whole turning the WH visit into a political statement is absurd. The visits were never about politics, but now it's turned into if you go, you tacitly support the dude in the oval office. It's silly.

What about politicians ad libbing about sports?

Pretty much. EVERYthing is so hyper-politicized these days.

It's just supposed to be a friendly kudos from the leader of the most powerful nation on earth for you reaching the pinnacle of your sport. That's it.

I mean, frick, I didn't vote for Obama, but getting to meet him was a very cool experience. People have turned politicians into caricatures of good or evil based on whether they vote for D or R, and it's a shame.

They usually sound stupid and put their foot in their mouth, like that one congressman who said Aggies and Longhorns usually root for each other when the chips are down

LeBron just couldn't let Melo be the focus of the NBA for 24 hours.
