Agreed, but there was no real estate available that could accommodate the parking. Strangely enough, that was the original plan to have all 3 stadiums close together (Dynamo (built in 2012)/Texans (built in 2000)/Rox (built in 2003/2004). My uncle's company was one of the contractors for the Reliant roof construction.

I completely agree to blow it up. I really like the versatility that the plans for the green space would provide, in addition to being a memorial to the history of the dome. It basically would be used as a bigger and better version of champions square.

Reading the comments, I'm surprised that people exist that actually want the Astrodome to continue standing.

Yeah it's the weird historical people that want to preserve it in its current form. They need to take a step back and really think about what is best for the city, the rodeo, and the texans. The answer is obviously not keeping it.

I like the plan but now they need to actually make it happen. Can't believe it's still standing honestly.
