Well it's not like he's doing it out of the goodness of his heart, he just is being told what is in his best interest.
Also, I've got a sneaky suspicion his camp will come out and say he misunderstood the question and he was just acknowledging the weed stuff was real.
If he stands by it I can respect that, but I'd wait and see before I give him too much sympathy. That being said, I do feel for him that it happened today and they're coming after him specifically. I don't want to ruin him, but frick Ole Miss.

I think he's going to clarify (deny)some of those statements about money as well.

Well there is no doubt he has been completely railroaded, but let's not absolve him from his role in all of this. He's not some quiet, innocent dumb kid who was manipulated. This dude took money and already had to sit out 7 games due to the car thing.

I'm an LSU fan. How should I react to potentially damning information against a division foe and recruiting thorn in our side?
I'd love to beat them on the field, but that hasn't happened with any regularity, so I'll take what I can get.

I don't think you know what "gotcha" journalism is. Asking someone upfront if they took money from their coaches when screenshots of texts pop up alleging to be conversations between you asking for money from your coaches isn't "gotcha" journalism, it's just called journalism.
