Karr gave us fits tonight. Hats off to those guys and i'll be rooting for them in the dome. Its totally unfair the amount of studs Landry-Walker have on their squad. I dont know what in the hell they have going on in Algiers, but they produce absolute beast athletes. I coach defense at 35, and I thought we were well prepared. Guys fought hard but Karr is loaded!!! Good luck in the dome Cougars and Charging Bucs!!!

They should not be in the bracket they are in, but they are good teams.

Jeez port city is one of those guys who supports the split. Here's a trophy for you and one for you and one for you. Trophys for everyone

How did you come to that conclusion, moron? Both of those schools recruit like hell but you put magnet schools on the other side. Makes no sense. There ain't something in the water in Algiers, they pull in kids from all over NO.

You've hit on a problem with the split. LW has a district of 100% of their parish and people are saying they should be select bc they're whooping everybody. They're not selecting kids. OneApp is doing that for them, Karr, 35, etc. It just so happens good football players and their parents want to play where they'll get exposure.

Meanwhile other schools that have a district of 100% of their parish (never mind the population differences) are happily nonselect and no one asks for them to be select bc they're not whooping anybody.

How many non-selects have their entire parish as an attendance zone? Serious question.

Because Chalmette is the only school in the parish. Big difference.

I know St. Charles parish doesn't allow it.

My fix would be for the LHSAA to draw lines where the school boards haven't... and play by those lines. Every address in the state gets zoned to one and only one nonselect school.

Karr always had a good team back when it was magnet school. But the impact that Frank Wilson had on Walker was profound.

We could see 3 charter schools win Non Select titles next week. If that happens, I fully expect a backlash/charter schools to be placed into Select.
