The overall talent in the league is as good now as it has ever been. There are 4-5 guys in the league right now who could go down as top 20 players ever, and one who would go down as the GOAT if people weren't so nostalgic about the 1990s.
ETA: That statement doesn't even include Dirk and Wade, who are already there

Gtfo with all this logic

You cant have 3 championships with the teams he has had for the last 7 years and be #2.
Yes you can. See how easy it is to diffuse your ridiculous assertion?
By your definition you are saying that Kobe is the 14th best player in NBA history and that he is an equal player to Horry and Dennis Rodman.
Measuring who the best PLAYER is has everything to do with what's on the court, not just the # of championships they've won.

This actually seems about right for kobe

By his logic, I guess Trent Dilfer is a better QB than Dan Marino and Warren Moon

Stop bringing up Horry, you know thats just stupid. We're comparing two superstars that played the same position. If you dont think that Lebron should have more championships right now, you are proving my point.

So comparing championships to measure how good a player is, is stupid?

You could make the argument that Miami should have beaten Dallas (which is true), but can you honestly say that if you replaced LeBron with Kobe on the 2007 Cavs that they would have gone to the Finals? (Hint: Detroit would have beaten them in 5)
Also, if you replaced LeBron with prime Kobe, the Cavs may win one game in the Finals last year.

We're comparing two superstars that played the same position.
LeBron is a top 3 player all time; Kobe is top 15-20.
Kobe is not in the same superstar territory as LeBron. Not even close.

2007 vs Detroit was very impressive. Being down 13 points in the 4th quarter of game 7 vs the Blazers in the WCF and coming back was more impressive.

Kobe should send Shaq a royalty check for that. Shaq was CLEARLY the best player on those Lakers teams and anyone who says otherwise is in denial.

Lebron has 3 pts right now and they are up by double digits. Thats how good the league is today.

I agree, using a TEAM achievement to gauge who the better PLAYERis, is absolutely stupid.

Kyrie and Love are on fire. Deferring to them right now is the smart move.

Possibly the dumbest post in this thread

The NBA suspended Green. There is an asterick.

You act like Gasol, Odom, etc were scrubs. They were the best teams that year. Don't give me this shite. Lebron will end up with a minimum of 5 championships, the same amount as Kobe. Wouldn't surprise me if he got more.

Holy shite for 3 games
Also, guess no asterick for the year before when lebron was missing 2 other starters huh?
