Because that's all Kobe did for the Lakers since 1996 is sit on the bench.

The only thing he's done for the lakers since they cut him a check for 30 million and signed him to a ~50 million dollar extension is sit on a bench and lose games

Tank time for the Lakers. Nash is out another month. Trade Gasol at the deadline to a contender and ride the tank.

why does everyone say this like being injured and rehabbing is better than being healthy and playing?

This was all a plan to tank and get the number 1 pick in the lottery. He isnt hurt.

Book it........and with the 1st pick in the NBA draft....the Lakers select.....

Reggie Rose has a lot to do with that.

Yep. Horrible business move to give a $50 million dollar extension before seeing what the guy looks like after a serious injury. It just took a little longer for Kobe fans to realize it.

Kobe hasn't done jack shite lately to warrant a ~24 million/year contract.

Not a Kobe fan. Not even close. Would I have taken a $50mil contract if I wanted to cement my legacy? frick no. Kobe has money. Another ring is what he's after. Spread that money around to help him win that championship.

That said, he's done enough for the Lakers to warrant that type of contract.

not really. to get a shot at another ring he'd have to accept a different salary and become a supporting player on another team.

neither of those necessities are things he's willing to do - especially the less money part

Me.

Of course he chose the money. Therefore, he won't get a ring. And trust me, he's chasing Michael's 6th ring.
