• FLORHAM PARK, N.J. (New York Jets), Monday, from Tim Rohan: On Monday at Jets’ camp, Christian Hackenberg was having trouble just breaking the huddle correctly. During one rep in seven-on-seven drills, as he approached the line of scrimmage, a coach ordered him to re-huddle. When he broke the huddle again—in the wrong fashion for a second time—he was ordered off the field.

And they just lost their #1 WR, Enunwa, for the year to a neck injury.

So...yeah. That will be one of the worst offenses in NFL history.

I thought this guy was going to be the next real deal at Penn State after his Freshman season. Oddly enough, he never improved.

He was a 5 Star in high school as a sophmore.

Annointed as the next Heisman winner as a freshman at PSU.

He reminds me of Ron Powlus.

A "peak too-sooner." As Mike Meyers would say. He was way better than everyone else at a young age...and that was the tops...that was the ceiling for growth.

"Measurables" is what kept his hype going. He just looks like a QB

There's a lot to this guy that we don't know. He's probably a major headcase.

Slightly embarrassed to admit that after I watched his freshman year I thought he was going to be the next great QB.

If you think Hackenberg and Applewhite are the same I have a hard time believing you watched either play much in college.

Hackenberg is FAR more like Virginia Tech's Logan Thomas.

Applewhite had moxie and could will Texas to victory despite his physical limitations. As much as it pains me to say as an Aggie the dude was a winner who could never be counted out.

Hackenberg folded under pressure damn near every time he encountered it. He never improved anywhere close to the level his freshman year indicated he could. If you got up on PSU it was game over b/c you could just blitz and Hack would fall apart.

If you are going to compare CH to a Texas QB it should be Chris Simms who was another dude who "looked the part" but didn't have "it" when it came down to winning time.

Dude is probably seriously pondering playing another year after this one at USC already.

That hype made zero sense, even at the time.

2955 yards, 20 TDs, 10 INTs, 58.9% completion percentage, 134.0 rating

2166 yards, 17 TDs, 7 INTs, 61.5% completion percentage, 137.2 rating

One of those was Hackenburg, and the other is Jordan Jefferson as a sophomore at LSU.

The idea that any team took him with the 51st pick in the draft is a fireable offense.
