The marlins are going to get some really nice players to be named later for him.

From what I hear, there is no chance the Marlins sign him after his contract is done. Which I believe is 2019. Jose I feel like gets forgotten about because he has only had 1 full year in his career, but when healthy he is in the discussion with Kershaw as best in the league.

still walks batters and has a tendency to give up hard hits but if he can get those under control then he will be unstoppable

Since May 21st, his walk rate is down to 1.21 per nine. Hard to say he really walks guys anymore over the past two months.

kershaw was wild when he first came up but has a lower bb% for his career. and what are you looking at? kershaw has a career bb/9 of 2.47 and fernandez has 2.63

I misread it. Mine says 2.5 and 2.6 respectively.

And didn't he miss some time with injury one season?

Pretty sure he had Tommy John and missed like a year and a half.

Yeah so this seems even more impressive given time off and recovery.
