Best hitter in baseball. If he hits in the 2nd half like he has the last two years he wins it easily.

After he's finished playing, he'll be widely accepted as a top 10 hitter of all time.

With Votto hitting third, he's not gonna get the RBI opportunities when Cozart gets dealt. Hamilton doesn't get on base enough, and they'll probably throw Peraza into the 2 hole when Cozart leaves. He has the same problem.

And I feel like his average is down because he's adding more power. Not sure he can keep up the HR pace AND hit .400 in the second half like he did last year.

All that being said, dude is so much fun to watch hit. Hall of fame lock with another year or two of the same results.

1. leading batting avg is .377 Votto is not even in the top few.
its NOT happening. book it.

2. rbi's. among a pack.

3. HR by 1

geez man. don't be disappointed. its not going to be close. with so many guys ahead of him in batting average, one or two of them is going to get on fire and Votto will not even sniff the fumes from the two guys up at 347 and 349 unless he goes .400 the rest of the way or they both fall apart.
if its the guy up at .377 just bats 340 the rest of the way, you are looking at needing .400+ to catch him.

note to universe
I approve of pollyanna positive speech. Visualize your outcome.
How about letting us in on how Votto wins the batting championship, no less hangs on for rbi and HR with a pack at his heels.

aside from positive speech, what do you thing the odds are that he passes all those guys ahead of him in B.A.? 20-1? 25-1? 400 to 1 is more like it.
rbi and HR are both a hair less than toss up. .

then you add in the incredible finish in batting average.

not your sure thing you tout.

How is his average down? His career BA is .313 and he is batting .315. The last two years he didn't make the all star team because he was hitting in the .270's. He then proceeded to hit close to .400 in the 2nd half of 2015 and 16. If anything his average is up this year.

A. Who the hell is batting .377?
B. the last two years Votto is hitting close to .400 in the 2nd half
C. I was pretty much joking in the OP, but given where Votto is in HR's and RBI's, and his 2nd half history it isn't as far fetched as you think

You can get great odds in vegas.
You are right about .377. Someone without enough at bats. So .347 and .342. Peace. Out.

Down compared to what he was doing second half last year. I honestly think he could hit .380 over a full season, but he would have to sacrifice power to do it. I think he enjoys hitting homers now.

Turner, unless he gets hurt again, will eventually have enough at-bats
