Remember when Joba Chamberlain was going to be the next biggest thing for the Yankees. They had the stupid Joba rules and he was hyped like only a Yankee could be. Well Now he was waived by Detroit and he recently signed as a free agent with Toronto. Talk about not panning out. I guess to be fair though he was given unfair expectations with the Yankees to be their pitching savior.

You may want to compare checking accounts before deciding he "didn't pan out". Plus he'll be retired by 40, probably not many of us can make that statement.

To be fair, he was very good for a brief moment before they moved him out of the bullpen.

He was not a bust by any means but the expectations they had on him were so big it would have been hard to live up to them.

True, he was a fricking stud when he first came up and was a setup guy. Didn't work out as a starter and then had injury problems.

Yes because Joba was the first pitcher who didn't pan out who had an innings limit... Dumb thread and Hughes was more regarded as a potential staff ace over Joba

Other teams players are on an innings limit=innings limit. Joba and the Yankees have an innings limit=Joba rules

You realize that was a creation of the media, it isn't like the Yankees created it. I've heard worse... seems like a dumb thread to shite on a player (more specifically a team) for something they had no part in.

Yeah. Torre was sitting there and came up with the "Joba rules".

No doubt. Hughes seemed like such a sure thing too.

All I remember about Joba is that game where the knats where all over him and got in his head

So money earned determines success? I'll see you at Jamarcus' induction into Canton.

anyone remember that retarded ESPN segment "Who's Next?" Joba won?

This was of course preceded by the even dumber "Who's Now?"
