This is about revenue not gender. NHL players don't get paid same as NFL, NBA or MLB because of revenue. 2022 Men's World Cup had $7.5 billion in revenue. Prize money was $440m. Men WC players actually get paid lower % of total revenue than women will at this WC.

This is one of the best arguments I've seen made.

Unfortunately women's sports athletes just want charity despite making more then the majority of the population

This is the only logical answer. You can only be paid based on the revenue you bring in. It really is simple. It's not apples to apples.

All of this.

A quick google search of economics dispels the bullshite narrative but the complainers refuse to hear it.

Yeah but in the eyes of morons the mens and womens WC are equal and revenue should be pooled and shared equally

Which the spineless Mens team in this country agreed to apparently

It’s somewhat fine for the female players to complain. Get your money.

Like always, it’s the retarded public who buy their complaints as valid. The amount of people who don’t look into anything and swallow everything they see in the media hook, line, and sinker is astounding.

I think they might've reworked the deal recently but if I remember correctly, they were given a choice between:

A. getting a percentage of revenue

B. a locked in salary

They chose a locked in salary, outperformed it, and wanted to go back on the deal

The men’s team was put in a tough position. The media was in complete support of the women’s team. They would have had to deal with a bunch of bull shite and bad publicity if they went against it. The men also make the majority of their income through their club team, so it’s not as big of a financial hit for them. It’s still ridiculous though.

I think this is the payout as a whole by FIFA that they are complaining about now, correct?

Probably but they're very likely wrong this time too

Yeah I don't blame the men for having no desire to fight this. Tbh they would probably play for free. The national team isn't where they make their living, they do it to fulfill a dream and play in the WC.

Anyone who spoke up would have gotten destroyed and probably cost themselves endorsement dollars.

So the next target will be the companies who sponsor the WC and the broadcasters who pay for the media rights. If they're not willing to pay the same amount for both tournaments it's discrimination.

At least according to the logic all of this has been based off so far. Viewership numbers be damned.

Will Cain made this exact argument on ESPN a while back and they fired his arse for it.
